WestRex Pty Ltd (WestRex) were engaged by Range Environmental Consultants to manage the transport and disposal of diesel contaminated soil, from a client’s site located approximately 17km west of Bauhinia QLD.
Due to the very high total hydrocarbon concentrations, absence of TCLP testing data, and client request to remove the contaminated soil as quickly as possible, the soil was unable to be sent to landfill without prior hydrocarbon treatment.
Therefore, the contaminated soil was removed and transported in road trains to our WestRex licensed waste processing and resource recovery facility in Jackson QLD, where it was successfully treated to acceptable levels, to allow beneficial re-use on site or disposal to a licensed landfill.
Project Highlights
- Responsive and experienced project management, ensuring the contaminated soil was transported and disposed to an appropriately licensed waste facility, to meet the expedited timeframes requested by the client.
- Transport of approximately 250m3 of diesel contaminated soil in road trains, utilising one of our locally based regulated waste licensed transporters.
- Acceptance of approximately 250m3 of diesel contaminated soil at our licensed WestRex waste processing and resource recovery facility, located in Jackson QLD.
- The contaminated soil was bioremediated to reduce hydrocarbon contaminant concentrations to acceptable levels, to allow beneficial re-use on site and/or disposed to landfill.
